Success for Lauren
Our congratulations go to Lauren Slade (Year 12) who has won a science writing competition run by the The Triple Helix Society at the University of Cambridge.
Her article, X-Rays: A Transparently Momentous Discovery, has been published in The Science in Society Review, a journal distributed by the University of Cambridge with a global reach. We are sure that after this initial success with her scientific writing we will see more of Lauren’s work published in the future.

Estelle Deacon in Year 13 has won a Laptop, having entered a competition organised by QualitySolicitors Hill & Abbott, Chelmsford. Estelle had to send in a covering letter and CV for her dream job, and she impressed the judges so much that she emerged the winner from participants from a number of Essex schools.
A team from QualitySolicitors Hill & Abbott have recently conducted 2 sessions with 60 year 12 students, introducing them to valuable skills that will help prepare them for the world of work.
